The core activity of the centre is to promote revolving trade exhibitions. The project promoters have significant experience in this field as they have successfully operated since the 90s and for many years The IMC International Merchandising Centre alone. In fact, back then, the conditions for such an operation where much more complex than today. In the past, it was much more difficult to go through custom clearing processes to transport merchandises to Cyprus and higher import duties where applicable. Even the processes to obtain visas and entry permits to the island for both exhibitors and visitors where cumbersome and time consuming. Since the entry of Cyprus into the European Union and the Eurozone most of these obstacles have been resolved.
Especially, after the termination of the activities of the Cyprus State Fair Authority there is no a proper exhibition centre in operation in Cyprus. As a result, Exhibition Organisers have to settle with spaces that either do not have the size or the necessary facilities to accommodate professionally organised exhibitions.
The IMC EXPO CENTRE will have 7,000m2 of state-of-the-art exhibition space which can be extended to an additional area of 1000m2 on the second floor which is currently allocated for modular multifunction rooms.
The Centre also aspires to regain its old glory of a regional exhibition centre organizing International Exhibitions of regional interest. The strategic location of Cyprus at the cross roads of three continents and the accessibility of the island by millions of regional trade buyers from nearby countries make IMC an ideal location for staging such International exhibitions.
International Regional Exhibitions will be specialized and thematic on a specific category of economic activity, enabling their marketing to specific groups of exhibitors as well as trade buyers. The project promoters are in contact with major overseas exhibition centres in order to reproduce in Cyprus some of their original exhibitions which are of regional interest. At the same time, the project promoters intend to organise periodically thematic national exhibitions from exporters, manufacturers and traders from specific countries. These will be organised in association with overseas export promotion agencies, chambers of commerce etc.
The Operating Company of the Centre is supported by a group of cooperating companies in order to fully meet the needs of even of the most demanding exhibitors. The Centre in cooperation with its strategic partners will be able to supply exhibitors with everything they need in order to construct and operate their pavilions including:
